About Varsaa

Hi, I’m Monicka Varsa.

Varsaa began with my love for Jamdani and the incredible richness of handloom crafts in India.

I became fascinated not just by the finished saree, but by everything behind it, the yarn, the loom, the motifs, the hands that make them, the little imperfections and the patience woven into every piece.

I’m still learning, slowly and closely, by spending time with weavers, asking questions, making mistakes and looking at textiles with curiosity.

And that curiosity grew into Varsaa.

What started with sarees gradually became a deeper interest in handloom fabrics and the possibilities they hold.

What if a beautiful Jamdani became a dress?
What if an old motif could be reimagined?
What if a weaver and a designer could create something that didn’t already exist?

Today, Varsaa is a textile studio rooted in India, bringing together thoughtfully discovered handloom fabrics and textiles I design and develop with weavers.

Jamdani will always hold a special place here, for its quiet complexity, its beautiful imperfections and the extraordinary skill behind every motif.
